About
Every organization is shaped by its people, goals, constraints, history, and current environment. Meaningful progress requires understanding those relationships as they are before attempting to change them. So much of consulting is plagued by forcing solutions, not validating them, and especially not validating them against ever-changing and competing constraints. If your information - whether business or technical - cannot be traced back to your objectives, you cannot achieve long-lasting change. I want to break the cycle of bandaid solutioning.
Zeff exists to help people better understand their systems. Part of my approach is to reintroduce Cybernetics - the study of biological and machine systems - in a way that will provide impacts from concept to logic to implementation, while introducing new mathematical processes in support of intelligence, ethics, and rationality. Real-time decisioning shouldn't just mimic outputs; humans and the machines we use require actual human reasoning, complete with governance.
This perspective is informed by my ongoing work in intelligence, systems theory, economics, and organizational behavior. I believe intelligence is more than reasoning and optimization. Intelligent systems must also maintain coherence, adapt to change, act with purpose, and understand the impact of their decisions on others. Lasting success - as a business but especially as people - emerges when intelligence is balanced by empathy, ethics, and responsibility.
It’s a privilege to give my gifts and resources to help others reach their goals.
